Part 2, some time later........

The previously grubby and corroding internal sections have now been cleaned, the corrosion has been flatted back to clean aluminium and all the internal sections have been treated to a generous coating of wax. Although this is not going to permanently stop the bi-metallic corrosion between the steel and aluminium, it'll certainly slow it down.

Internal steel cavities such as the inertia reel seat belt enclosures have also had a substantial coating of wax.

Messy but protected!
